Baguio with the Bujerts

Yebah!!! Nag Baguio kami ng mga college friends ko nung weekend… So fun!!! Actually kahit siguro hindi kami sa Baguio pumunta, we would still have a grand time. Kasi yung Baguio naman mismo, medyo boring na na place puntahan para sa akin ‘coz I’ve been there nung 2003 lang and nothing much has changed. No new sights to see or no new things to buy. Pero fun sobra yung trip because of the company. Ang sarap talagang kasama ng mga bujerts.

Pito kaming lahat lahat na pumunta ng Baguio. Ako, si Ann, Ann’s brother Vince, Christa, Mar, GJ, and Lester. As usual, si Stu ang nagdrive sa amin, which I am really thankful for kasi I always feel safe when he’s driving and memorize niya ang lahat ng magagandang puntahan sa Baguio so we didn’t waste any time. Ann and Christa naman pretty much brought all the laughs that we needed. Kapag bored na, just mention any random subject (Michael Bolton! Bra! Pozzarubio!) and for sure meron nang sasabihing joke si Annie, Oliv or ako and tawa na!

Hahaha… Mahirap talaga kapag namu-moody. But thankfully, naisip kong tumuloy sa Baguio trip namin. I really had the time of my life! Yun nga lang merong downsides like yung sobrang dami kong na-gastos or yung palagi akong naje-jebs. Hahahahahaha! Pero sulit talaga sobra… Less than 48 hours lang kaming magkakasama at sobrang bitin nun. But I'll never forget those 48 hours that we were together.

Pagbabalik Tanaw sa Tutawsanpayb

I came across a questionnaire-type thingy in someone else's blog. It's a questionnaire regarding what happened in the past year. It's actually for the year 2004 but it's easily customizable for 2005 hahaha...

Name three fondest memories of 2005>
1. Gaaahhhh! I've been thinking for about a minute and nothing is coming to mind... Lemme think some more...
2. I've thought some more and nothing comes to mind...
3. Waahhh... I have no fond memories of 2005. I have lots of memories about the year but nothing that I will be fond of... Bleeh... 2005 sucked!

The most unpleasant memory>
I guess it could either be working the phones at Convergys or working with father and son... Both are equally stressful hahaha...

What do you regret doing last year?>
Being snobbish to a lot of people. I hate being the "mataray" person but I can't help it! If I really hate someone, I can't be "plastic" to them and I just come off as really snobbish...

What do you wish you could have done last year?>
I wish I was able to spend more time with my friends... And savored the holiday season more...

Best item bought>
Hmmm... I haven't really bought anything big time last year... But I did get a gym membership and I think that's the best thing that came out of my earnings...

Worst item bought>
All the unnecessary food items that made me fatter than ever hahaha...

Your Person of the Year>
No one

What is 2005 to you in one word?>
Boring

What were your New Year's Resolutions in 2005?>
I cant remember... Maybe lose weight... But I gained more than I lost...

Where you able to fulfill it?>
Nah... I never fulfill my resolutions...

What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2006?>
None... Senseless

Where did you celebrate New Year's Eve?>
Bahay... As usual!

Most memorable New Year's Eve, ever?>
Hmmm... All of our family's New Year's Eve celebrations are the same.. Nothing stands out

Wish for 2006?>
Boyfriend please

Five Questions from Friday Forum

1] How is your year 2006 starting off? Good? Bad? What do you think
this year will be like [any predictions?]?

The year started off as quite bad for me mainly because I was feeling sad that Christmas is over. The past Christmas is the worst Christmas I ever had and I can't pinpoint any reasons why. But it's also a good new year as I have transferred to a different department, which means I have a new job and a new work schedule!

2] Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Why/why not? If so, have
you managed to make good progress on them so far?

I did not make any new year's resolutions. At least not any conscious ones. Before I always say that I'll lose weight. But this year, I'll just continue going to the gym (which is what I've been doing since December) and just hope for the best that something positive will come out of it! Hahaha...

3] What's on your January calendar? Any special events or dates to
remember?

I'm going to Baguio tomorrow with some of my college friends. Actually I have a lot of events for tomorrow such as a reunion with some high school friends, the birthday parties of org-mates, and a Tagaytay trip with my foreign boss. But the Baguio trip came first and I haven't been there in a while so I'm going with that plan!

4] Are you sad that the holidays are over, or are you glad to be
getting everything back to normal? Do you still have your holiday
decorations up?

I'm sad that the holidays are over because I never really got into the holiday spirit. It's like the holidays never happened for me so I'm wishing that it's still Christmastime at the moment. But unfortunately, it's the middle of January already and all decorations are gone so I guess I'll just wait for December 2006.

5] What were you doing last year at this time?

Last year, I was still working for Convergys. But I think I was not yet handling calls during this time. I think I'm still in product specific training and therefore I was going to Makati everyday at around 9 in the evening.

tutawsansix na!

It's the first day of the new year 2006... And oddly, it feels just like any other regular day of the year. True, there were the requisite paputoks and midnight feast with the family but everything seemed forced and muted.

The economic plight of the Filipinos is very visible and very audible in the lack of fireworks and firecrackers this year. The main celebrations lasted for only about 30 minutes after which everyone retreated back to their homes. Even our family has cut down on the number of paputoks bought for the celebration. As for me, I was running around the streets lighting sparklers and various fireworks but the joy of welcoming the new year is not there. At one point, I even asked my sister "New year na ba?" not realizing that the usual countdown to midnight has already passed. I even forgot to greet the people in our household a happy new year.

The media noche our family had consisted of the usual ham, hotdogs, pansit, cake, pasta and various sweets. Of course, I had a taste of every single one of them (except for the fruit salad that is). But again, the merriment associated with eating a feast was not there. The food sat at the pit of my stomach, weighing heavily on me when I realized that a lot of other people are not enjoying such food. And I can see in the faces of everyone in our household that our hearts are not really in it to celebrate the coming of the new year.

Thankfully, what was going to be a boring and meaningless new year's day became a good one when some of my friends invited me to an inuman session. So right after the media noche, I ran off to my friend's house where I drank and ate the night away. Sadly, I realize that this shows a tremendous shift in my life: that my friends now bring more joy to me than my family. I guess there comes a time in every person's life when one puts their family on the sideline, at least temporarily. And this must be the time for me.

So happy new year to all. I hope that it will indeed be a happy one for all of us. I just wish that the year 2006 will be better for everyone, may it be economically, emotionally or spiritually. I'm wishing for a better year so that when 2006 is ending and we are celebrating the coming of the year 2007, we can truly be celebrating it and not just going through the motions.
